Hola!
My name is Angela but friends and family call me Angie. Since I get asked about my ethnicity all the time, I am a mixed Latina. My mom is from El Salvador and my dad is Black/Italian. Because I was raised by my single mother, I tend to lean toward my Latin side, speaking Spanglish, blasting Salsa music (especially Marc Anthony) anytime I’m cooking or cleaning, and find myself having Latina mom tendencies like trying to feed you all the time and pointing with my mouth.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California for the first part of my life, then moved to good ol’ Salt Lake City, Utah so I basically claim both states. In between there, I moved to Vegas for a short period of time to bartend, but that’s a different story for another day.
After graduating college with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and working some entry-level jobs, I landed in an awesome startup company. I love my job and my bosses for allowing me to work from home so I can take care of my baby without having to choose between a career and motherhood. As a first time mom, I feel like they have made the transition so much easier on me than it should have been.
Not only am I a mom and a full time employee, I’m also a business owner. I run my own online women’s boutique, lavidaBLUE. Aside from having a business license, I have a real estate license, and a cosmetology license. What can I say? “I’m a hustler, I’m a, I’m a hustler homie….” If my life had a theme song, that would be it (it’s by the great Jay-Z by the way).
On top of being a full-time mom, a full-time employee, and business owner, I’m also a brand new fiancee!!!
As you can see, I have A LOT going on so I started this blog as an open journal to share my thoughts and things that I love as a way to not lose myself in the whirlwind and chaos of my day to day… Welcome to (my) La Vida Mom! Aka “Mom Life”.
